Fun week on the way

Feb 2 Play your ukulele day. In Hawaiian ukulele means “jumping flea”. It’s considered to be known as a Hawaiian musical instrument, but it was brought there by Portuguese immigrants. It became a very popular instrument in the jazz community in the 1920s. Hashtag today’s day #WorldPlayYourUkuleleDay!
Feb 3 Carrot Cake Day. By the way, it is a Brazilian traditional cake too, but they cover it with chocolate. Very easy to make. Blend some carrots with eggs, sugar, milk, flour and baking powder, add oil and wait for the oven to make it magic.
Feb 4 Homemade Soup Day! For my mom, this day is every day. One of the most famous soups is Ukrainian beetroot soup Borscht. There is French Onion Soup, Minestrone from Italy, also cold soup Gazpacho is from Spain, Miso soup is Japanese, and Gumbo soup is from Louisiana USA.
Feb 5 Chocolate fondue day! And I think it’s amazing having this day being an official holiday. I just love pineapples in chocolate fondue!
Feb 6 Today is that day when you can give yourself a real treat for breakfast or your kiddos because it is Eat Ice cream for Breakfast Day and also Frozen Yogurt Day!
Feb 7 It is a beautiful day Send a Card to a Friend Day. For many centuries people sent messages to each other using cards, papers, and anything you can carve on your note. During Victorian times, it became more popular and even fancy to send cards for holidays, because people started caring more about holidays like Christmas, Easter, and Birthdays. Now in the era of memes, we don’t do this anymore, we no longer send thank-you cards. And you know it is so nice just to make this pleasant gesture and send your loved ones a funny and sweet card from a dollar store that indicates some joke or loving words! I still do it, especially to all my family who are living overseas. We take Christmas pictures and send them to our families in Ukraine, Spain, and Brazil.
Feb 8 is Kite Flying Day! I don’t know anything about them, but I noticed people who love this kind of hobby are trying to find them in thrift stores because buying a good one is not cheap. On one of the thrift hunt days, we found one in Goodwill new in a pack for $3, then when Amazon-ed it, the price was over $60!
