Gaymes Night
Technology makes current times easier, but making hard conversations easy helps too.
“Gaymes Night is all about a group of people coming together, playing board games, which is very unifying,” said Rachel Stiller, 19 an SRC representative.
What was still a hard subject to openly talk about just five years ago is now openly a part of the St. Clair College experience.
“Gaymes Night is important to me because it was just last year when I figured out what my sexuality was,” said Machaela McQueen, 20, a St. Clair College student.
“It was really nice to be able to join a community that has different sexualities and just hang out and play board games.”
It was started with a little bit of help from the community around Windsor.
“The SRC reached out to Windsor Pride to have something on campus and they decided having a Gaymes Night was the ideal option and most people would be able to attend on a regular basis,” said attendee Sam Legary, 26.
“I enjoy coming here to get a break off school to get my mind off it and hanging out with friends,” said Legary.
Gaymes Night happens every other Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Student Life Centre at St. Clair College South Campus.
