Halo-weekend is here
It’s Halo-weekend and Windsor’s downtown will be filled with people ready to celebrate.
Pubs and clubs will open their doors for the Halloween festivities. Decorated dance floors and bar tops, costume contests, and spooky music will be a few things to add to the atmosphere. Halo-weekend will take place starting Oct. 26 and run through the weekend with the final day of celebration Oct. 31.
The Manchester Pub, located at 546 Ouellette Ave., will be throwing their second annual Halloween party Oct. 31. Their event, the Manchester Massacre II: The Next Chapter, will include the transformation of the venue into a torture chamber, cocktails, finger food and prizes for the top three best costumes. Tickets are $10 at the door or seven dollars for pre-sale. George Ibrahim, a bartender at the Manchester and coordinator of the event, said it is definitely the place to be for Halloween.
“This is our second year doing this and with the success of last year’s party we think this one will be even better,” said Ibrahim. “We’ve spent a lot of time planning and think whoever comes won’t be disappointed.”
Other bars in the city celebrating the holiday include The Bull’ N Barrel, Villains Beastro, The Loop Complex, Lev3l Vodka Emporium, The Room, Sin Nightclub, Voodoo Nightclub, Boom Boom Room, Revival Social and many more. The FM Lounge, located at 156 Chatham St., is going where no Halloween party in Windsor has gone before. Live music from Star Trek: The Band will be providing entertainment. Classic episodes from the original ‘Star Trek’ series will be screened while the band plays experimental and psychedelic music to go along. ‘The Way to Eden’ and ‘The Trouble with Tribbles, are the episodes for the night. This performance will be free of charge, Star Trek costumes are recommended.
Whether you’re a Halloween junky or just looking for a night out, you’ll be able to scare up a good time in Windsor’s bar scene.
