Are you ready for the Harvest and Horses Festival?

This year’s festival will begin on Oct. 7, at the John R. Park Homestead on County Road 50 in Essex county, a conservation area restored to resemble the 1850s.

Independent horse owners can bring their horses to the homestead for the festival’s main event, a parade of horses.

Kris Ives, an employee at the homestead said it’s a “really exciting and fantastic” event for anyone of any age.

“These horses are all…local, and they look just as nice as a baby,” said Ives. “And you don’t spent (a lot of) money, just event admission fees which are $6 per adult, $3.60 per child, $20 per family and free for 0-2 year-old babies.”

In addition to these events, there will be a barbeque and a buffet.
