The finals for boys’ AAA OFSAA basketball are set. Father Henry Carr will take on Oakwood C.I. at the St.Clair SportsPlex. Tipoff is scheduled for 8:30 p.m.

In the first semi-final game, Henry Carr took a 41-39 lead entering the half. Despite keeping it close for the first half of the game, Henry Carr would eventually separate themselves from their opponent with the help of leading scorer Shamar Bailey’s 21 Points. Henry Carr came out victorious by a final score of 67-57.

The second semi-final game wasn’t as pretty. Oakwood C.I. would take a 46-23 lead entering halftime and would never look back. Oakwood’s exceptional defensive play stole the show as they limited Sir John A Macdonald to 2 points in the 1st quarter and 3 in the 4th and final quarter. When the final buzzer went off Oakwood punched their ticket to the finals with an authoritative 55-26 victory.

For Oakwood, it is their first boys’ AAA OFSAA basketball finals appearance since 1997. The last time they won the event was back in 1993.
