Hotel-Dieu Grace Healthcare Foundation holds Adventure Challenge
For the past ten years, the Hotel-Dieu Grace Healthcare Foundation has put on a fundraising event for the community called the Heart Breaker Challenge.
This event had all participants of all fitness abilities, “Get Fit, Get Dirty, and Give Back.” It was a huge success, raising almost one million dollars for the Cardiac Wellness and Pulmonary Rehab Program.
With the Heart Breaker Challenge no longer continuing, there was a need for a new community event and a new way for the HDGH Foundation to receive fundraising support.
To fill that need the foundation will be partnering with the Wild Life Academy. They are holding a fundraiser together next weekend, Sept. 14, for their new Outpatient Rehabilitation Centre.
Teams of four will participate in the ‘Adventure Challenge,’ which is a 5km walk/run through Lakeside Park in Kingsville.
This isn’t an ordinary walk, however. This event will have a multitude of physical and mental challenges to overcome, which are designed for people of all ages and abilities. The obstacles and challenges will be mainly focused on team building and problem solving.
If you would like to participate in this event, registration is required. It is a $65 entry fee per person, 16 and above. The entry fee for kids 6-15 years old will be $40. Best of all, 100 percent of the money will stay local to Windsor-Essex County. This event allows you to register online.
Alternatively you can go to www.raceroster.com and you can search for ‘Adventure Challenge’ in the top left corner.
