How is COVID affecting us four years after it started?
Four years ago, the world changed in ways we never expected.
The Coronavirus is a virus that was introduced in late 2019, but the lockdown started in early 2020. Quarantine has become the new normal. Many people have suffered because of it. Ever since Covid, people have been paranoid. For example, when someone gets a common cold, the first assumption that people make is ‘it’s Covid.’ Causing both parties to stay away, which in turn develops anti-social tendencies.
Depending on who you ask, you will get different answers. If asking a teenager what they think of COVID-19, they will say that it was the best thing to ever happen. They will say this because they were quarantined during the rest of their high school years. The classes, exams, and assignments would all be online. One would assume it would make it easier to pass the class. But what most teenagers don’t know is that Quarantine caused most people, even the most social and extroverted person, to have anxiety and depression.
Teenagers weren’t the only ones affected by this pandemic. Adults with businesses were forced to shut down because they didn’t have the funds to keep it going. People lost their jobs due to COVID-19, which in turn had no income for monthly bills. Teenagers had to step in and work if they could. Some students had to skip their online classes so they could help work to support themselves, and their families, financially. Teenagers didn’t get the high school experience because they had to work through it. The Corona pandemic has made people rethink their lives and priorities. Being isolated from the real world can feel lonely. It can cause some real damage to one’s mental, physical, and emotional health.
Even though it has been four years since the pandemic, Covid is still at that stage where it is still affecting us. The virus keeps changing and expanding, and most people have Trypanophobia, which is a fear of needles. This means that most people haven’t taken their vaccination shots, making them vulnerable to the virus. Many people have many questions, but the one that is asked the most is, when do we stop the immunization?
Four years ago, the world changed in ways we never expected. In the future when people think back to the time when the pandemic started, they will realize that the lessons that they had taught themselves had made them better at understanding, growing, and changing their lives, and their future. Four years later, the world continues to change in ways we never imagined.
