Incident on Wyandotte
The Special Investigations unit were called to the Mcdonalds on Wyandotte after reports that police were involved in a fatal shooting this morning.
A block on Wyandotte and Goyeau was been closed off Wednesday morning for several hours and the
Mcdonalds was placed on lockdown.
Multiple media outlets report witnesses heard gunshots and some say the man was armed with a knife and tasered. The SUI confirmed a 33 year old man died after a confrontation with the Windsor Police. Six investigators and four forensic investigators attended at the scene.

UPDATED MARCH 28 2018: On March 23 2018, the SIU confirmed on their Twitter feed that two police officers discharged their fire arms and the man was struck multiple times. The family of the deceased has publicly identified him as 33 year old Matt Mahoney.
