LaSalle Welcomes Brick Built Animals
LaSalle residents got to experience one of a kind Lego Sculptures in their own backyard.
The Lego exhibit Sean Kenney’s Animal Superpowers Made with LEGO Bricks opened to the public at the LaSalle Event Centre on Jan. 25. It featured a wide variety of different animal sculptures ranging anywhere from a family of Polar Bears, a Woodpecker and Lion.
Sean Kenney is the event organizer, and he described the process he goes through when creating these kinds of f creations.
“I make a lot of drawings,” said Kenney. “I watch YouTube videos; I look at pictures online to try to get myself into it.”
Kenney also said that he tries to find his own connection while building and said that as a dad he watches YouTube videos of a mother Polar Bear and her babies.
“I really saw that love,” said Kenney. “It seemed almost human to me. I thought, well, I want to capture that. How can I capture that?”
This event is the first of its kind to be held in the Town of LaSalle.
“I hope they come out and see the amazing work that Sean Kenney has done, because it truly is something to see in person,” said LaSalle Mayor Crystal Meloche. “Seeing pictures, it’s great, it’s beautiful, but up close and personal and seeing the real size of these things and what they’ve been able to create is truly amazing.”
The sculptures will be on display April 6.
Admission times are Thursdays and Fridays from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Saturdays and Sundays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
