Leamington fire causes $7M damage
Firefighters from Leamington and Kingsville responded to an early morning fire on Mersea Road 7 on Saturday, March 23.
Firefighters arrived at the fire at around 5 a.m. and struggled to keep the situation under control until later in the afternoon, as it was an enclosed agricultural building. The steel roofing of the building made it hard for firefighters to tackle the fire.
No one was injured and damage is estimated to be in the $7 million range.
Investigators with the Ontario Fire Marshal’s office also investigated the blaze, but the cause will go down as undetermined.
