Hand-made things might look worthless to some people, but to those dedicated and enthusiastic crafters, every small work is an exquisite piece of art.

Just ask the crafters who were selling their wares for a good cause at the Windsor Kin Club the day before Thanksgiving.

“All these are hand-made bracelets, coyote stitch, crocheted beads, handwoven delicas (beaded items) and everything is done by myself,” said Debbie Cottrell of BB Bracelets and Things.

She was one of several crafters whose sales helped bring in $300 from about 50 customers.

According to the organizer Christine Wang, the money goes to help families dealing with cystic fibrosis and to the Moose Lodge for its Toys for Tots campaign.

“The motto of our club is ‘serving the communities greatest needs,’” said Andy Mantha, president of the Kin Club of Windsor, which started locally 85 years ago. “By doing so, members experience the satisfaction and fulfillment that comes with personal involvement.”

Wang added, “Thanks to all the crafters so much for their participation in making this a well-attended event.”
