19 Magazine and the Windsor Express have teamed up to deliver a series of ongoing, exclusive concerts featuring up-and-coming artists like Kaila Delarmente before and during Windsor Express games.
“It wasn’t the biggest crowd that I ever had but it was definitely the coolest thing I have been able to do,” said Delarmente, a 22-year-old R&B and soul vocalist who is also singing in the Raise Your Voice competition which will be held at the Gourmet Emporium in Windsor.
Delarmente said her musical sound depends on how she is feeling in the moment.
“I’ll sometimes really enjoy doing ballads because they are really emotional but a lot of times I do like doing upbeat songs because it makes me happy and the people around me happy,” said Delarmente.
Delarmente’s partner Calvin Moras works the sound for most of her shows and said he is very proud of her progress so far.
“I think she can go as far as she wants,” said Moras. “She has a great voice, she can do what she wants with it. She can sing here, she can go to L.A. she can do whatever she wants.”
More upcoming shows in the 519 Premium Concert Series lineup take place from March 13 to 29 and will be hosted at the the Crown Royal Club Lounge in the WFCU Centre.
