The St. Clair College women’s fastball team wrapped up their regular season with a 6-5 win over Mohawk College Oct. 10.
Saints’ starting pitcher Skylar Patteson threw into the seventh inning allowing five runs on eight hits before Alexa George came in to pitch the final two outs of the game.
Patteson helped herself get the win with a two run home run in the fourth inning to extend the Saints’ lead to 6-1.
St. Clair earned the top spot for the Ontario College Athletic Association Championships hosted by Humber College in Mississauga Oct. 18-19.
St. Clair men’s soccer
The St. Clair College men’s soccer team will try to continue their recent playoff success Oct. 11 against the Niagara College Knights.
When the two teams met earlier this season on Sept. 22, the game ended in a 1-1 draw.
St. Clair will look to extend a two game winning streak against the Knights, who are coming off a win in their final regular season game.
St. Clair has qualified for the OCAA Final Four Championships in three of the last five years.
Flyers dominate Stars
The Leamington Flyers’ offence powered them to an 8-1 win over the St. Thomas Stars Oct. 10.
Mitch Amante led the way with a two goal game. The Flyers were without forwards Alex Seguin and Tony Spidalieri, but that didn’t seem to be an issue as five players for the Flyers had multi-point games.
The Flyers remain in second place in the Western conference, two points behind the high scoring LaSalle Vipers.
The Flyers are in action Oct. 12 against Niagara Falls where they will look to extend their winning streak to four games.
