Making merry in Essex
During the festive season, people love to gather and socialize.
Over the past eight years, the Essex Centre Business Improvement Association (BIA) has organized a gathering to make the experience better in that community.
This year, it is partnering with the Essex Salvation Army for the Town Hall Tree Lighting festivities.
“This is the time to bring the community together to enjoy the food, drinks and socialize. We are expecting over 400 people tonight,” said Mary-Anne Bjorkman, chair of the Essex Centre BIA, on Nov. 24.
Attendance has been rising every year.
“There is free food sponsored by Essex Centre BIA, Salvation army kettle kick off and Christmas Carol Sing-along to engage people more into the events,” added Bjorkman.
The Salvation Army and children’s bands play to keep the ambience entertaining and keep the festive spirit going, she said.
If you want to be a part of this celebration, join in at Essex Town Hall. The event runs on Nov. 24 from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.
