Maple Leaf Pro Wrestling Returns
Windsor native and local wrestling promoter, Scott D’Amore is set to resurrect the Maple Leaf Pro Wrestling promotion here in Windsor this October.
D’Amore, who is the owner of Border City Wrestling (BCW) in Windsor, was also the President of TNA Wrestling until February when the company was purchased by Anthem Sports & Entertainment. Many fans were left wondering what was next for D’Amore after he parted ways with TNA Wrestling. To the delight of Windsor’s wrestling fans, on Aug. 8, D’Amore announced his plan to resurrect Maple Leaf Pro Wrestling.
Maple Leaf Pro Wrestling has a lineage dating back to the 1930s when it was headed by Jack Corcoran who ran Maple Leaf Pro Wrestling shows out of The Maple Leaf Gardens in Toronto. In ’31, Corcoran handed the reigns over to Frank and Jack Tunney who ran the promotion until 1984.
Fast forward forty years later, Maple Leaf Pro Wrestling is returning in Windsor. Some talent expected to appear are Raj Desi, the former WWE World Champion, Jinder Mahal, Kylie Rae, Kushida, TNA’s Josh Alexander, Kushida and local wrestler Gisele Shaw. The show will be held this coming Oct. 19 and 20 right here at St. Clair College and will be streamed live on Triller TV.
