March break activities in Windsor
By Kenneth Pastushyn.
For the third year in a row, the City of Windsor’s Adventure Bay Family Waterpark is closing their doors during the March break.
The facility is currently working at half-strength, making recalling existing staff and hiring additional staff their biggest challenge.
Don’t worry, there are other things for the children to do.
For Monday, March 14 through Friday, March 18, the Windsor Essex Tourist Information Centre has published a helpful March Break 2022 Guide.
The Chrysler Theatre is hosting matinee showings of the Harry Potter movies all week long at 1 p.m. starting with The Sorcerer’s Stone and ending with The Prisoner of Azbakan.
“Initially we wanted to do a March break theatre camp, but there were Covid restrictions,” said Veronica Mancini, theatre manager at the St. Clair Centre for the Arts. “So, we decided to run a Harry Potter movie marathon.”
The Silver Tee Golf and Virtual Gaming Centre is featuring March Break Madness specials including half price simulators and a free pitcher of pop when you buy a pizza.
“Zombie Dodgeball is our number one game,” said Theresa LeCours, the owner of Silver Tee. “We are looking for families to have fun again.”
The Windsor Spitfires will help get things hoppin’ at What’s Poppin’ Popcorn Factory on Saturday, March 19 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. when they will be selling their Spitfires Mix, with all the proceeds going to the Spitfires Foundation.
“The Spitfires Mix is a combination of our original kettle corn, blue-raspberry and red-cherry flavours,” said Sadie Chantler, an employee at What’s Poppin’. “It’s part of our sweet and salty collection.”
Spitfires players and mascots will be there to greet fans, sign autographs and give away free tickets to their game on Sunday, March 20, when they host the Flint Firebirds at the WFCU Centre at 4 p.m.
