#Metoo movement takes centre stage at Golden Globes
The 75th Golden Globes Awards was held Jan. 7 in Beverly Hills and was hosted by Seth Meyers, with more than 500 celebrities attended this year’s award show.
Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri won four trophies including Best Motion Picture for Drama, becoming the biggest winner in the 2018 Golden Globes. Lady Bird won Best Motion Picture for Musical or Comedy. The Handmaid’s Tale did well in the television category , earning Best Television Series, and The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel also won The Best Television Series in the Musical or Comedy category.

The #MeToo movement took center stage with most celebrities dressed in black to criticize the gender power imbalance in Hollywood. Even “Wonder Woman” Gal Gadot tweeted on the issue.

The honorary Cecil B. DeMille Award winner Oprah Winfrey also spoke out on stage about this problem in the movie and television industry.

The Golden Globes is often a preview to the Academy Awards which will happen on March 4 and be hosted by Jimmy Kimmel again.
