Miracle League looking for players, volunteers
Registration for the first season of the Riverside Baseball Miracle League is now open. The ballpark at Farrow Riverside Miracle Park is about to enter its first season.
Now a new baseball league has been formed in town to give children and adults with special needs the chance to play baseball. The organization is looking not only for players, but also for volunteers to partner with them.
The miracle league offers children and adults with disabilities the chance to play baseball, make new friends and build self-esteem.
Windsor city council approved the riverside park in September 2017.
On Monday, the commission reiterated its support for finding a final source of funding for new wonder diamonds.
Together with the Riverside Minor Baseball Association, it will apply for a grant from Canadian Tire’s Jump Start charity. The city will donate $150,000 and hopes to get $350,000 from the charity.
The “wonder diamond” will be officially opened to the public at the end of May, celebrated with a military parade on May 30. You can register as a player or volunteer on the league’s website.
