Motor City Chrysler’s employees still on strike

On a cold February day, where people prefer to stay warm, Motor City Chrysler’s employees were walking the picket line.
About 60 employees from different department say they are on strike not for new demands but to get back what they gave up 12 years ago.
“We don’t really have demands. Twelve years back in 2008 when the economy got tight, we realized the company needed a hand (so) we allowed and (agreed to) … cut backs. We actually did that for three contracts in a row,” said sales person Wayne Rogers.
He also said workers give a five-cent raise when the minimum wage was increased.
“They don’t have any intention of giving back anything,” said Rogers.
Local people who pass the picket line were seen offering them coffees to keep them warm.
Bob Maurice, the chairperson of the union, said the owner is asking for more concessions, but “we are hoping to be back (at work) soon.”
