Movies to watch This Summer

Clockwork Orange (1971) 

Controversial movie about the nature of violence and how the government designed a new program to cure this problem, but unfortunately it did not work how it was supposed to. 

American Horror Story (2011- Present) 

Has 12 seasons, and every season is better than previous of the previous one. If you grew up watching or reading Goosebumps, this one is an adult version of terrifying stories. 

Two For The Road (1967) 

This movie is more of a couple’s movie. The 1967 movie shows the growth of the relationship, and the adorable Audrey Hepburn makes this movie even more enjoyable. 

The Magicians (2015-2020) 

Beautiful TV series about kids who go to a college for magic. If you ever wanted to see the continuation of Harry Potter here you go! Amazing plot, crazy challenges and the most important love stories and self-growth of the heroes. The last episode of the last season makes you cry. Why did you end it? I NEED MORE! 

Tootsie (1982) 

Old sweet classic. Do you know saying per aspera ad astra? Meaning through hardships to the stars. This movie it is that example when you are pursuing your goal and you need to do whatever is needed from you to win, even if it means you need to wear a women’s skirt! In my opinion, it is one of the best Dustin Hoffman’s roles! 

Little Ashes (2008) 

If you love arts, and the dark, dirty, or even intimate stories behind  the success of famous artists, this movie is for you! Three incredible artist’s paths were connected in the most famous and prestigious places in Madrid Spain. Dali, Picasso and Garcia Lorca and very knowledgeable beautiful story! 

Tolkien (2019) 

I am not a fan of the Lord of The Rings, but this movie made me want to read all the books including the Hobbit! Very well-structured movie, with historical vibes. It is very hard to show World War in the correct prospect for people from different countries to understand since it had a significant influence on the people’s lives. The most curious is the actor, Nicholas Hoult, who was the protagonist and playing Tolkien, also played the role of Salinger in Rebel in the Rye (2017). Both writers were serving in the army. Tolkien for the British army in WWI and Salinger for the US army in WWII. The same actor showed with such truth, strength and emotions so convincingly, it makes the audience believe he was talking to Salinger and Tolkien, so he knew how to portray their characters. Both movies are biographical and full of interesting details on these incredible authors.
