Last night, voters in the city of Windsor re-elected Drew Dilkens as mayor and introduced four new councillors.

Voters elected a mayor, ward councillors and school board trustees to represent them in the next term starting Dec. 1, 2019.

Drew Dilkens was re-elected as mayor out of five candidates with a majority vote of just under 60 per cent. The runner-up is Matt Marchand with 35.5 per cent.

Four new councilors, Kieran McKenzie, Jim Morrison, Fabio Costante, and Gary Kaschak will replace Hilary Payne, John Elliott, Paul Borrelli and Bill Marra.

Citizens gathered at the St. Clair Center for the Arts building to watch the live results as they arrived. Following his win, Dilkens presented a short speech where he expressed his gratitude and determination to continue improving the city.
