New WPS constables sworn in
The Windsor Police Service welcomed five members to their ranks Nov. 5 with a formal swearing-in ceremony.
Constables Steve Rettig, Adam Spinarsky, Ajay Sweet, Elena Djurovic and Andre Marentette were sworn in at the Major F.A. Tilston V.C. Armoury and Police Training Centre on Sandwich Street. Many long-serving officers were on hand to welcome their new bretheren. It was the first swearing-in ceremony WPS has publicly held. Previously new officers were sworn in at the courthouse.
The five graduates of the Windsor Police training program marched into the drill hall and read an oath, which was administered by Justice Micheline Rawlins. They were then presented with their badges and inspected by Police Chief Al Frederick.
