Number of Windsorites opening small businesses is growing

In a recent report released by the Canadian Federation of Independent Business, Windsor is quickly climbing up the list of the best communities to start a small business in.
Matt Marchand is the president and CEO of the Windsor Essex Regional Chamber of Commerce. He said he was not surprised by the numbers because he sees so many shops choosing to stay.
“Well I would say we have a tremendous history and culture of small business in our region. If you want to get into whatever field you want to get into you don’t have to move to Silicon Valley, you don’t have to move to Toronto, you don’t have to move elsewhere. You can do whatever you need to do right here in Windsor-Essex,” said Marchand.
According to Marchand, the Chamber of Commerce has programs in place to help small businesses grow in the city. For more information visit http://www.windsorchamber.org/.
