One injured in Highway 3 collision
The driver of a passenger vehicle was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries from a collision with a tractor trailer on Thursday.
The collision occurred around 9:30 a.m. at the intersection of Highway 3 and County Road 27.
The stretch of the highway between County Road 27 and Marsh Road was closed for investigation for most of the day. Lanes were reopened for traffic around 7:30 p.m.
The driver of the truck was not injured.
The crash occurred less than a week after Premier Doug Ford’s announced a draft transportation plan for the province. It includes widening Highway 3 to four lanes from Essex Road 34 to Highway 77 on the North end Leamington. A timeline for completion is not mentioned.
