Noting we are in the middle of the seventh wave of COVID-19 infections, Dr. Kieran Moore, the chief medical officer of health in Ontario, announced this morning the seriousness of various health conditions especially for children under four.

“Increasing risk and increasing pressure on our healthcare system. It’s important to know it’s not across all age groups, it is the youngest that cannot mask, or who obviously have difficulty in masking, and we need to protect them,” said Moore

On top of the latest COVID-19 surge, hospitals are seeing an uptick in the number of flu and RSV cases. Dr. Moore is highly recommending Ontarians wear masks and get vaccinated as soon as possible.

Windsorites are split on the issue.

“If they recommend,

we go back to wearing them then I trust their judgement,” said Bob Cameron, an employer in Windsor. “We as a family and as an organization will respond appropriately.”

“No. No mask unless you want, it should be our choice,” said Jo Wright, Windsorite. “You know? It should be our choice.”
