OPP recorded 194 collisions in southwestern Ontario during last winter storm
Ontario police recorded 194 crashes in southwestern Ontario between 6 p.m. on Wednesday and 9:30 a.m. on Thursday.
In Chatham Kent, OPP dealt with seven tractor trailer collisions and three motor vehicle collisions.
Of the 194 accidents, seven were tow truck accidents and three were motor vehicle accidents on Highway 401.
More than 200 crashes occurred in 12 hours in southwestern Ontario. OPP West region responded to 213 collisions Monday before the evening rush had even begun
During one of the first big snow falls of the season, provincial police reported 213 collisions in less than 12 hours across southwestern Ontario.
The 213 crashes happened between 5:45 a.m. and 4:15 p.m, and none of them resulted in life-threatening injuries.
Since Wednesday evening, there have been 194 traffic accidents in the west, some of which have caused serious casualties and closed roads.
According to an OPP tweet, police typically record 20 incidents on a “typical night.”
