Syed Dawood, 30, is an entrepreneur, coach and trainer at Pakistan’s most elite gym, Kinetix. It is situated in Islamabad, the capital of Pakistan. He started his career as a professional athlete, but ended up as an entrepreneur and gym trainer after starting his business four years ago.

While having a personal business is quite popular globally, the concept of entrepreneurship is new in Pakistan, but it is slowly becoming more common.

“Fortunately, or unfortunately, I had a few injuries as a cricketer. I started to do my research and got healed. I used to help people with their physical problems and that was first realization which made me leave cricket and I started gym,” said Dawood. “We did many things which otherwise a common businessman won’t do, we took those risks which others won’t take.”

He said the idea behind his gym was to create something unique in this field, something that could make all feel proud and give inner satisfaction. He said it always helps you to succeed in business if you are passionate enough to sacrifice your comfort and work hard.

There are more than 300 clients who have benefitted by Dawood’s gym in past four years. Many of them are still awaiting his services. Clients are full of praise for Dawood’s commitment and strategies which fulfill the promise of providing them the best gym experience.

“When I joined Dawood, I had lots of injuries and he really helped me in healing physically as well as mentally, that is why I call him my part time therapist as well,” said client Anusheh Naveed. “He really knows very well how body works and how to deal with injuries.”

Naveed, 31, is a head of digitization, research and strategy at U Bank in Islamabad. She said whenever she cannot make it due to busy job, Dawood will let her work out anytime. She said this gym really helps her to get fresh after long meetings at the office.

“I used to get tired badly and was unable to focus on work and then would eat anything that would be offered at tea time, which would spoil my diet plan. That always resulted in depression, but now Dawood keeps a check on my diet by making me fill up a form weekly. That helps me to control my eating habit,” said Naveed. “I never wanted to share my diet plan but now

I love to do so because of Dawood’s successful incentive strategies.”

Dawood has succeeded by updating his workout sessions, backed by the latest scientific research. He said his strong commitment and faith in scientific logic helped him to improve constantly. He also said this is what attract his clients the most.

“We are getting successful because we believe in research and science. Everything we do in Kinetix is backed by latest empirical evidence,” said Dawood. “But we keep on experimenting by incorporating our own experience whenever you start a new business, and you try to add uniqueness through your guts. That makes a difference and helps you to achieve perfection.”

“We are the most highly paid trainers in Pakistan because we don’t compromise on quality. We have personalized trainers, we don’t believe in group training and deal individually with our clients by getting data from them through questionnaires about their medical and psychological histories,” said Dawood. “We then design their workout plans individually.”

He said people should work on their muscles as well as minds to have a healthy body and to live a quality life. He also said he is continuously working on improving his workout strategies for the betterment of his clients.
