Pedestrian dies following Howard Avenue collision

A pedestrian has died after being struck by a vehicle on Howard Avenue Sunday night.

The collision happened on Howard Avenue near Logan Avenue around 7:00 p.m. Nov. 24.

A tweet posted by Windsor police says the injured man was transported to the hospital yesterday with life threatening injuries and has since passed away.

“When officers arrived at the scene, emergency personnel were tending to an injured pedestrian. The scene was contained and an investigation was launched,” said police.

Members of the Windsor Police Service Accident Reconstruction Unit and Forensic Identification Unit attended and processed the scene.

The vehicle involved had remained on scene and the driver spoke with officers.

The roadways that were initially closed have since reopened.

Police say the incident remains under investigation and also emphasized that drivers and pedestrians remain aware of their surrounding when on the roadways.
