Police blotter Feb. 19

A local man has been arrested for breaking into vehicles.

John Logan was taken into custody Feb. 15 by Windsor Police Service in the 900 block of Pierre Avenue.

WPS was called to the area at approximately 5 a.m. when a witness observed a male in the driver’s seat of a Dodge Caravan with a broken passenger seat window.

WPS searched the area for the man and found him in the driver’s seat of a Subaru with the driver’s side window smashed and shards below the door.

The investigation revealed several vehicles and a garage in the area had been targeted by the alleged suspect.

Logan has been charged with five counts of mischief, two counts of theft,  break and enter and possession of a break in instrument.

In a 72-hour period spanning Feb. 16-19, WPS:

▪   Answered 771 calls to emergency 911 phone lines

▪   Responded to 183 calls to 911 requiring police assistance

▪   Handled 618 calls for service, dispatched or officer-initiated

▪   Issued 90 tickets for provincial offences

▪   Arrested and lodged 24 prisoners
