WPS seeks international fraudster
By Sean Previl
Windsor Police Services are looking for a Swedish man involved in a fraud case.
Patrick Tarverdian-Conaraky is wanted for allegedly committing fraud against several investors and putting two magazine publications in Windsor and London at risk.
WPS received a complaint Feb. 12 from a local business stating an employee of theirs had fled the country after completing the fraud.
Tarverdian-Conarky had fled the U.S. in 2006 after a fraud conviction in Virginia and surfaced in the U.K. before arriving in Canada in 2010.
WPS said Tarverdian-Conarky used 39 different names to allegedly commit the crimes. He used the name Patrick Kazarian when communicating with investors.
Tarverdian-Conarky claimed he was the owner of both magazines and set up various loans, promising the investors they would be able to own the businesses should he default in paying back the loans.
Neither business is owned by Tarverdian-Conarky.
Several arrest warrants have been issued for Tarverdian-Conarky including one for fraud over $5,000 and another for theft of a motor vehicle.
According to WPS, Tarverdian-Conarky is alleged to have missed his flight in Stockholm and may be living under another name in Liverpool, England.
If anyone has information about Tarverdian-Conarky or may be a victim from one of his scams, please contact WPS at (519) 255-6700 ext. 4330 or CrimeStoppers at (519) 258-8477.
