Police looking for witnesses to fatal crash
An adult woman died in hospital Thursday night from injuries after being struck by a vehicle in South Windsor.
Windsor police responded to a report of a pedestrian being hit around 8:20 p.m in the area of Dougall Avenue at Medina Street.
After arriving on the scene, officers found an injured pedestrian on the roadway, as well as a white Ford Focus — the vehicle involved in the collision — stopped near the scene.
The women who was struck was transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Officers later spoke with the driver of the Ford Focus and determined the vehicle was responsible in the collision. The scene was processed by members of the Accident Reconstruction Unit and the Forensic Identification Unit.
The matter remains under active investigation as police seek witnesses to the incident.
