Police seeking whereabouts of third suspect in stolen safe case
What started with reports of suspicious behaviour Jan. 22 has turned into an active investigation to catch the last of three suspects.
Police responded that Saturday to the 1200 block of Monmouth Road to find three men attempting to break open and obtain the contents of a stolen safe. When they arrived at the scene, Windsor Police Services reported suspects were in possession of a concrete saw, drill, crowbar and an axe.
Two Windsor males now face charges of stolen property and the possession of break and enter tools. The third suspect fled from the scene of the crime. Although WPS investigators have been able to identify the third male, they are still seeking his whereabouts.
Police have confirmed that the safe had been reported stolen from a business in Essex, about a 45-minute drive from where it was recovered.
