Probert documentary premieres in Windsor
Family of late NHL player Bob Probert watched the premiere of ‘Tough Guy: The Bob Probert Story’ last night at the Olde Walkerville theatre.
The biopic, directed by Geordie Day, covers Probert’s career as a fearsome NHL-enforcer, as well as his controversies with drugs and alcohol off the ice.
Along with footage shot in Windsor, the documentary features narration from Probert himself, drawn from recordings made for his autobiographical book ‘Tough Guy: My Life On the Edge.’
NHL icon Don Cherry, teammates like Steve Yzerman and Probert’s wife, Dani Probert, all contributed to the film.
Probert died of a heart-attack in 2002 at the age of 45.
The documentary airs on the Super Channel Dec. 14 and on-demand starting Dec.15.
