Profile: Finalist for entrepreneur of the year 2018 — Radu Bogdanel
The Business Excellence Awards has become a premier event of the year, recognizing the achievements and contributions of business leaders in Windsor and Essex County.
Radu Bogdanel, president of Fulger Transport Inc., is one of the three finalists for the Entrepreneur of the Year Award. Fulger was started in 2007 with just two people and now has hundreds of employees.
“I started driving a truck at the age of 19, and due to my young age, it was really hard for me to land a job as a driver. The one company who gave me a chance, was Elgin Motor Freight. One year later, I became one of their driver trainers. I worked hard to pay off the chance they gave me and I stayed with Elgin until 2007 when Adrian Sasca and myself started Fulger Transport,” Bogdanel said.
“Thankfully my wife was very understanding and supportive through this journey. Our business began to grow and our team did so as well. Currently we are employing over 100 people who work just as hard as the first day to improve and provide great services to our customers. I would like to thank God for giving me the strength to pull through the hard times, my parents for their sacrifice, my wife and team for their support and hard work,” he added.
“I feel proud that I am in the last three finalists for this award and let’s see what is going to happen on April 11,” said Bogdanel.
