Employees at a Leamington greenhouse have won an international award.

The award is given by the International Fresh Produce Association, which is a large association for the produce industry. Every year they put on a global trade show. It’s the largest trade show in north America and companies exhibit many of their new products at this show.

The Pure Flavor team won for one of their new products, the Amora mini melons.

At the show, they have a panel of judges assess how you’re promoting your product and they give an award based on that assessment.

Pure Flavor won the best new product promo award.

The ceremony took place during the trade show on Oct. 19 in Atlanta Georgia.

Julia Shreve is a new employee. She started working at Pure Flavor at the end of July, but she had been in the produce industry for about seven years and marketing for almost 20 years.

Shreve said this wasn’t the first award she had won.

“It was very exciting because Pure Flavor has never won this award before. This is actually my third time winning this award, but the first time with pure Flavor,” said Shreve. “So, it felt really good to be able to win this award for pure flavor and on behalf of pure flavor, because it’s just another way that they’re proving that they are a big player in the industry and that they have excellent offerings and are ready for growth.”

Joseph Sbrocchi, who is the senior vice president of business development strategy, said it took a team to win this award.

This is strictly a team effort, so it really takes into account a whole number of different measurement if you wish and for me it was a very pleasing moment because it kind of validates a lot of the changes that we’ve made, you know, bringing in people with diverse backgrounds,” said Sbrocchi. “The companies have to grow and to grow it needs a wide variety of new points of view and different ways of attacking issues that help you grow.”

Shreve said she was hoping to win because she felt like she and her team had done a really good job. Shreve also said they did announce finalists and she knew Pure Flavor was in the finalist the day before.

“Basically, all the produce players in the industry from across north America,” said Shreve. “There were over 200 entries in the animation (produce) category.”

Shreve said it felt good to be up against that many entries and yet still win the award.
