Queen Elizabeth marks 65 years on the British throne
Queen Elizabeth II added another achievement to her legacy today by becoming the world’s longest reigning ruler.
Today, she celebrates her saphire jubilee on the British throne.
65 years ago, at age 25, she became the queen of England after the death of her father, George VI.
A 41 gun royal salute was fired in a London park at noon to honour her new milestone. The queen is expected to honour her achievement privately at her Sandringham estate in Norfolk, England.
