Windsor is one of eight Canadian cities that will receive a visit from Larry O’Brien.

The NBA’s Larry O’Brien championship trophy was awarded to the Toronto Raptors after claiming their first championship in franchise history last June.

The Larry O’Brien Championship Trophy will be on display at Charles Clarke Square Oct. 12 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The event is open to fans of all ages, where they are invited to take photos with the trophy.

It is estimated more than 5,000 fans showed up to Charles Clarke Square to cheer on the Raptors during a live screening of Game 5 of the NBA Finals.

Fans will also have a chance to win two tickets to the team’s home opener in Toronto on Oct. 22. The Raptors will raise its championship banner and pass out championship rings.

On Thursday, Mayor Drew Dilkens participated in a Raptors flag-raising ceremony in advance of Saturday’s event.
