Record breaking temperature in Windsor
On Feb. 9, Windsor experienced unusually warm temperatures, so high it broke a record set 124 years ago.
Meteorologist Peter Kimbell of Environment Canada reports that the city’s maximum temperature on that day in the past was 16.2 degrees Celsius, just breaking the 1900 record.
Riya is a student at St. Clair college, she said she is really enjoying the break from the usual colder weather this time of year.
“I feel surprised of this weather,” said Riya. “It is interesting to see such a long- standing record being broken.”
The pleasant weather is being enjoyed by locals with some taking advantages of the unseasonably warm weather. In the upcoming days, Windsor weather will be cold with wind, and potential rain mixed with snow.
