Record lows for Windsor
This week in Windsor could be so cold that 50 year old records will be broken.
Currently Windsor is sitting well below the freezing line and it is expected to stay that way until Sunday. On Tuesday night Windsor’s temperature will drop to a low of -20 C, and a low of -23 C on Wednesday night.
The record low for Jan. 29 in Windsor happened in 1963, and was a low of -20.6 C. And the coldest Jan. 30 in Windsor was -20.6 C. which happened in 1951.
Health officials warn that temperatures as low as this can be dangerous and to know the symptoms of frostbite and hypothermia and how to treat it.
These temperatures can make driving and walking in snow worse than it already is. This is because the colder it gets road salts become less effective and more is required to melt ice.
