The “Plenty of Reasons” video project has won the Technology and New Media Promotional Award at a provincial conference in early February.
Tourism Windsor-Essex Pelee Island was given the award by the Economic Developers Council of Ontario at the 61st EDCO Annual Conference.
According to a press release by EDCO, there were 118 submissions for the award from 55 communities and organizations across Ontario.
The President’s Dinner and Awards Ceremony took place at the Sheraton Centre in Toronto and showcased the winning entries.
“The EDCO Awards of Excellence Program continues to help communities raise their profile and enhances the work that economic developers are doing in Ontario,” said Alison Newton, EDCO president, in a press release.
TWEPI’s video submission showcased the region’s municipalities and many recognizable activities in the surrounding areas. The video features landmarks including the riverfront plaza, Essex Golf & Country Club, wine tours and many others in just over two minutes.
TWEPI’s Lynnette Bain said it shows the organization is in touch with what other regions are doing.
“We are kind of ahead of the curve,” said Vain. “We are partnering with local tourism stakeholders to promote the region.”
