The landmark building on Windsor’s west end is in need of major structural repairs and has been closed for a number of years due to ongoing safety concerns.
Local lawyer Paul Mullins is working with the city and community to help raise the necessary funds to restore the building, which is the oldest parish west of Montreal, Que.
Local philanthropist Al Quesnel has offered $5 million, provided his donation matched by other donors.
Mullins says so far, four promises totaling $3.25 million in coordinating assets has been offered for the restoration project.
