Suspect found in connection to 12 break-ins

A 56-year-old man has been arrested by Windsor police in connection with an investigation into a series of residential break-ins Windsor and Amherstburg. 

Since the beginning of January 2023, there have been at least 12 confirmed instances of residential break-ins or attempted break-ins as part of the ongoing investigation. 

In a number of cases, police said the suspect used a ladder to gain entry through a second-floor window or patio door. Once inside, the suspect allegedly stole money, jewelry, and other valuables. 

Following an extensive investigation, the suspect was identified by members of the Windsor police target base unit. On Feb. 25, officers found and arrested the individual in the 3400 block of Erskine Street. 

While searching the suspect’s home, law enforcement discovered evidence that connected the suspect to numerous residential break- ins.
