A concerned resident took matters into his own hands after City Council rejected a proposal by the Downtown Residents Association.

The organization requested that the city reduce its annual rental fees for its use of Charles Clark Square for the Downtown Windsor Farmers Market.

While watching the Nov. 2 council meeting live in his living room, Jon Liedtke used social media to vent his frustrations and Windsorites responded with pledges.

“What I decided to do was put out a Facebook message and a Tweet saying ‘I’ve got $100, who’s with me’ primarily just to highlight how such a small amount of money this was,” said Liedtke. “If I had $100, I knew that I’d be able to find 29 other people to bring together the full $300.”
