The arts and entertainment scene in Windsor-Essex is exploding!
The Arts
At Mackenzie Hall, find the Excellence in Focus exhibit from local artist Nancy Baeur. The gallery showcases this unique piece until Oct. 1. Photo artist Linda Monin is also a guest at the exhibit.
Current exhibits at the Art Gallery of Windsor include The Sandwich Project. It focuses specifically on Windsor’s relationship with food. The exhibit explores urban renewal and historical preservation. Catch the exhibit before Oct. 1.
The Theatre
Ghost Light Players continues its run of The Drawer Boy, a Canadian piece by Michael Healey, at the Atelier Virginienne.
“This play is, at the same time, both Canadian and universal,” said local theatre guru Barry Brodie. “There is no heart that will go untouched by this production.”
Cardinal Music opens its show 9 to 5 The Musical at the Green Room Theatre, running for the last two weekends of September. The Purple Theatre Company presents Almost Pregnant (The Comedy) at Mackenzie Hall until Sept. 24.
The Music
Riverlight Harmony Chorus opens auditions for its acapella female four-part chorus on Sept. 27. Anyone is welcome to attend, regardless of your musical experience.
The Capitol Theatre presents the Music of Star Wars on Sept. 30 and Oct. 1. Sponsored by the Toldo Foundation, teams from the audience will also participate in a trivia-style contest.
