Run for your (better) life
By Sean Previl
Do you have what it takes to outrun the undead?
Undead Unleashed, a five-kilometer zombie run, will take place Oct. 5 at 10 a.m. at Malden Park.
Co-owners of Scarehouse Windsor, Shawn Lippert and Dario Silvaggi, teamed up with Jakub Witalec, organizer of the Windsor Zombie Walk, to put together a creative twist to the run for money fundraisers.
“We’re looking for an event that’s entertaining, fits a healthy lifestyle, but is mostly just fun,” said Lippert.
Each runner begins the race as a survivor with three flags to represent health bars, which they will try to keep until they reach the finish line. Zombies will attempt to take the flags and once all three are gone, the runner is deemed “turned”. Runners can still complete the race even if their flags are gone.
Individuals, teams or those looking to be zombies can register online at http://www.undeadunleashed.com.
Proceeds from the event will be donated to Transition to Betterness.
