Villians Beastro hosts the S.N.O.T game show, as they reach their first anniversary.

S.N.O.T (Spectacular night of trivia) celebrated its one-year anniversary. On Oct. ? at Villains Beastro, Co-ordinator Francois Jacques has been hosting trivia nights for a few years. He began with a music based trivia game called Beat the Band which was held on Wednesday nights at The Manchester. Soon he began toying with the thought of hosting a game show style trivia game which focused around movies and television shows.

“One day the owner of Villains expressed some interest in having trivia here. When I met him I told him I have a better idea. Instead of just trivia why don’t we do movies and TV but in the form of a game show,” said Jacques.

Jacques and his brother in-law Shawn Gilliam joined forces to create S.N.O.T

“I brought Shawn on originally to push buttons, but he really got involved and he had a lot of great ideas, so we started working hard on making the games better,” said Jacques.

Gilliam explained it’s a great feeling to have reached the one year mark.

“It shows that people are interested and have faith in you. In the beginning we would have teams out but only three or four. We would have the same people every single time,” said Gilliam

As time has passed Jacques said the only complaint they have received was that there needs to be more space for other teams to join. On the night of the anniversary they had 12 teams playing.

The reigning champions are Vinegar Stroke, a team comprised of Mike Mueller and Andrew Brien. They have been coming out to Villains for the past five months and said they love the trivia game. The atmosphere and entertainment is what keeps them coming back.

“Since we’ve started coming five months ago we haven’t missed a game yet. The show these guys put on is much more entertaining than any trivia that we’ve done and they are hilarious,” said Mueller.

“I enjoy the pop culture. With this trivia game it’s much more interactive and you get to participate instead of just writing your answers down on a piece of paper. You really feel like it’s a game show you get to go up, buzz in, it’s fun,” said Brien.

Jacques and Gilliam plan to go on a tour next summer visiting cities such as London, Toronto, Ottawa and Montreal. For now you can catch the two in action on the second Thursday of the month at Villains Beastro.
