Sears Canada liquidation begins
By Shirley Feng
Sears Canada announced all the remaining department stores and home stores will begin liquidation sales starting October 19.
Sears Canada is a historical retail chain in Canada, founded in 1952.
After struggling for several months, Sears Canada obtained an order from the Ontario Superior Court of Justice to liquidate its 82 stores.
This will include the store at Devonshire Mall in Windsor, which has operated since the mall started in 1970.
Customers now can take advantage of up to 50 per cent off liquidation items including Kenmore appliances, as well as brand name apparel, home decor, toys, furniture and other items throughout the stores. All gift cards and Sears Club points are still available throughout the liquidation period. All liquidation sales will be final.
This final clearance sale will continue for 10 to 14 weeks, and must be complete no later than January 21, 2018.
