The second volume of From The Vault is now on shelves.
The visual history book depicts the timeline of Windsor’s history from 1950 to 1980. These photos were gathered from the Windsor Star archives.
This volume represents the 1950 to 1980 period with over 1,250 photographs of Windsor’s history.
The book signing ceremony was held at the Windsor Star News Cafe on Nov. 10, 2016.
Craig Pearson, author and Windsor Star reporter contacted Dan Wells, publisher and owner of Biblioasis, to nurture the idea to write this book.
“I wrote about people and politics, and the development of the city,” said Pearson. “Take a trip through Windsor’s past. The archive provides such an amazing record of days gone by.”
Pearson considers the book a one-stop shop with the nuts and bolts of Windsor’s history.
“The community will see themselves,” said co-author Sharon Hanna. “This is their town, their local haunts, their schools, this is where they can celebrate and remember Windsor in its heyday.”
This book is the second in the series. The first volume consists of the period of 1886-1950 with over 500 images of Windsor history. Both volume I and II are available at Biblioasis bookstore; a third volume will be added to the series.
