Seniors get plugged in with new program
The Film Camp for Youth and Kids gives an opportunity for seniors to get out of the house and learn how to use iPads and play board games with high school volunteers during their ‘Plugged In’ program.
The organizer Cheryl Corda believes it is a good chance for seniors and youth to communicate with each other.
“We just wanted to get together the people in the neighborhood so that they could communicate with each other at different ages, the young with the seniors or the elderly, just so they can come together one two days a week just to have a little bit of fun,” said Corda.
Many elderly people lack not material resources, but spiritual companionship. This activity can make the lives of the youth and the seniors full and meaningful.
