Serving up Great Soup at St. Clair College

The St. Clair Centre for the Arts brought people from all over Windsor to eat soup recently.
Sponsors, volunteers and a lot of people around Windsor came to the Great Soup Kitchen event to taste more than 40 different kinds of soups from different restaurants.
It is an annual fundraiser for the Windsor Essex Heart and Stroke Foundation.
“We have a great turnout every year. It will be people trying out all of the different soups that are available from all the different vendors that volunteered their soups to our soup kitchen,” said Susan Roberts, one of the volunteers.
“We are happy to be one of the sponsors for this great event. We are also happy to see so many people coming out to support this great cause, also to see so many restaurants donate their time, donate their finances,” said Radu Bogdanel with Fulger Transport, one of the main sponsors.
“We are very blessed that it’s been able to last 32 years,” said Holly Kirk McLean, area manager with the Heart and Stroke Foundation. “It’s a great event. A lot of people come out. It’s very well anticipated and all the money goes to support the research of the foundation.”
